Newbie question about amp pairing

I just bought 2 rockford fosgate p3 10's from a buddy of mine. He says they can take about 1000 watts each. What i am wondering is how big an amp i should get for them. were going to need to know the coil configuration on your woofers, they are either single/dual voice coil, and we also need to know the impedence of the coils, 2 or 4 ohm.

you will want to run a single channel class d amp. on the RF website it says these woofers are rated for 400w RMS, so you should be looking for an amp putting out about 800-1k watts rms.

What he said^^ look for something around 1kwrms and preferably get a custom box built for them. But if you tell us the impedence then we could recommend some cheap/solid amps for you.

Okay its a dual voice coil and 4ohm is what he just told me. Any cheap amp solutions?

I'm a n00b like yourself.... however, I think that you could run an amp that puts out between 800 and 1k RMS @ 4 ohms.

1000 rms at 1 ohm will be cheaper and easier to find than 1000 at 4 ohm.
