Okay, I know little about subs. I got two boxes from my friend, they're for 12" subs. Each box holds one sub. I want to put decent sounding subs in them. Nothing great. Just so it'll sound good, and have a good amount of hit to 'em. I've seen Audiobahn on ebay. They're fairly cheap, but I don't want crap. Is Sony or Pioneer any good for subs? How about Rockford Fosgate or Kenwood?

Only one sub is going in my car, as I've got two cars.

Any recommendations?

Thanks

sony is crap.Pioneer is cheap but not that loud.RF is good and loud but I dont think there subs are inexpensive.Kenwood dont even bother with. Back to audiobahn, there very cheap with good SPL and no SQ. Your choice. I would stick with audiobahn personally, thats my opinion. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Let's everybody recommend subs when we don't even know the volume/type of box !!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
sounds good to me.....lets say brahma, shiva, tempest, ed a, k, o, think thats a good set to choose from....heh....but really if u could give us the volume of the box we'd be able to better assist u

Dude sony aint that bad....the new p5 subs actually sound decent FOR THE MONEY. Make sure you read what i capitalized before you all go nuts.... we just put two 15 p5s ported in a jeep and the dude hit 144....thats not too bad now is it..and you can get those for 300 bucks for both, retail...

I'm not sure on the size of the box. I can give an estimate on the dimensions. It's specifically for the back of a truck, so it's not square. It's 2 feet long. foot and a half tall. Top is about 6 inches, bottom about 10 inches. As I said, they were given to me for free, I know nothing about 'em.

that basically how much my single 12" idmax can displace. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

pioneer is actually very nice for the money. SQ is nice and gives a decent thump. they get pretty low for a low-budget sub.

I've decided on the Pioneer Premiers. The two listed on ebay are TS-W125C and TS-W125DVC. What's the difference besides the difference in impedence when wiring?

As for other speakers, I'm going to need some better 6x9 and 4x6 speakers. Any recommendations for brands? I've got Vegas and Pioneer in my Fiero and they sound great. Oh yeah, this is going into a 2003 Cavalier.

Thanks

If you can spare 200 dollars a sub get some magnum d2's that are on sale until the 16th

Go with the magnums, if u have enough money. got me two. OR go with a brahma 12 ( those bang ). I would just rather save up some money and get a good sub, then to get a sucky one that cost $50.

Those pioneer premiers sux plenty. I have borrowed a friends' of mine because I am waiting on some eD subs to get in.... but christ, it can't do anything right. The older pioneers, the ones with the metal dust cap and had "IMPP" on it were IMO ten times better. It's say 400 RMS and 800 Peak but it can't handle 180 from a JBL 180.2! Save your money, buy a new eD 12Kx.44!
