Newbie needs help

Hey all, i recently connected my sub woofers after getting a new car i had my neighbor help me install them and when i got it connected it did not hit as hard as it did before(shook my rear view mirrors ect). After playing with it today i unhooked one of the subs and found it hit harder(almost like it did before). What is my problem and how do i fix it?

The system is:

the subs are 10DCVR104

amp is Kenwood KAC-9105D

Stock HU

4 gauge wire

Sound like maybe you had one of the subs wired wrong. My suggestion would be to take both subs out and go over your wiring and rewire it all. Find a wiring diagram and go from there. Also make sure to set your gain correctly using a DMM.

checked all my wiring and it seems correct.I even switched the positive and negative around and still nothing

need to check the + and - on the amp and speakers make sure they are right.if they are then disconnect one woofer,if it sounds good then cross the wire on the other woofer then see how it sounds,you can also look on the amp see if there is a phase adjustment ,if so turn it all the way down.

Are you using a LOC or HiLo adapter, If so make sure that is connected correctly, and check the Polarity ( + -) on the speakers you used to connect that. Also check the Level on the LOC.

Im using a LOC, I went to the local shop and he told me what it sounds like is its out of phase..I then switched out the red and black on the box and still did nothing

I am getting power from both subs only connecting one of the wires in the input in the amp.

He told me to switch the red and black and i dont know if he means to open the sub and do that or just do it from the outside of the box

Did you check the factory wire color code and make sure it was right ? (Where the LOC is connected )

yes its correct..could a power splitter work for the subs?
