Newbie: Need a little help

Basics: 05 Jeep Wrangler, sticking with the factory nav head unit (RB1). I have a lifetime sirius and ipod. Thought about changing the head unit but sirius wont let me transfer. And it works well and less likely to be stolen. So I have purchased Infinity Kappa speakers. 50.9cs for the front and 52.9i for the rears. I also have a new kenwood KAC-8405 amp. I am wanting to power the front speakers with the amp and bridge the other two channels to run a sub. The question is on the sub. I am just wanting to replace the sub in the center console which is very limited. I have found that the kicker CVT65 is a direct fit. Everyone that is running them in the wrangler is using the 2 ohm version off the factory amp. I want to know if I should buy the 2 or 4 ohm version when running it off the kenwood amp with the two channels bridged.

most amps generally only like 4 ohms bridged. i have a feeling someone might chime in about a different sub suggestion, kickers are pretty meh around here lol

I just checked and yes that amp is bridgeable at 4 ohms and that speaker is a single voice coil so you'll want to get the 4 ohm version.

Thanks, for the quick reply. Just what I needed to know. I am open to suggestions if anyone can think of a better sub that will fit in the console. I don't have a back seat and the top is off the majority of time so a box is out of the question. I don't think it would last a week. Very limited here.

Exactly how much depth do you have to work with?

Tang Band W6-1139SI 6-1/2" Subwoofer (slightly deeper)

Aurum Cantus AC-165 6-1/2" Carbon Fiber/Kevlar Woofer (same mounting depth as the kicker)

Aurum Cantus AC165/50C2C 6-1/2" Midwoofer (also slightly deeper)

If you can fit it I would try and use that third one. Keep in mind though only the first woofer is 4 ohm, the other two are both 8 ohm which will work fine with your amp but if your amp is rated at 200w at 4 ohm it will probably only output 100w at 8 ohm. However that third woofer is a lot more sensitive than the kicker (84.6 vs 90) which means it will take less power to achieve the same output.
