Hello,

I have a 2002 monte carlo I'm looking to upgrade a little. I recently had this head unit installed:

Kenwood - KDC-255U 22Wx4

I don't know anything about anything. Watts, ohms, flux capacitors //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

From what I understand, the next logical step would be a set of decent speakers and an amp. I don't know what would be a good match to my current system, but I was looking into this amp:

Amazon.com: Alpine MRP-F300 4-Channel 300 Watts Amplifier: Electronics

As for speakers, maybe something in this price range:

Amazon.com : Pioneer TS-A1685R 6-1/2" / 6-3/4" 4-Way TS Series Coaxial Car Speakers : Component Vehicle Speaker Systems : Electronics

It seems my head unit is not very powerful (22Wx4) so I guess I'm not trying to go overkill. Again, coaxial, 4-way vs 3-way, I don't know what the difference is...

I like variety, but I listen to industrial rock the most, heavy on guitar. Usually on medium volume or thereabouts.

As for budget, I'm sure there are some sick set ups out there. I'm just looking to get the most bang for my buck. I'm interested in what gives more performance per dollar instead of total top quality at a very high price. Is the wattage on the head unit a limitation?

So lets say around $75 for speakers and $175 for an amp maybe? Then there is installation...

Im no expert, but this is what i found in a quick search:

Dnt know if that $75 was per pair or all 4, but thats kinda tight for 4 speakers

Iv been referred this but it wasnt enough power for me, seems to be a great amp tho

Wow. That's a nice truck. Where I live there are few cars and trucks that use only one amplifier to power the speakers. So already noticeable...

This is my thought as well. Would be a much better box volume if you could buy the 12" version of those subs.
