Newbie looking for the best budget system.

The vehicle is a chevy venture. The head unit I believe is just the stock one so I would probably need a better one wouldn't I?
Bro, with a chevy venture, you can fit an 18 in there or a pair of 15s, fk them 2 12s if you can go big then go big

Rules of getting a system that blows people the fk away

1: Dont Skimp on the amp, Buying anything related to boss, crunch pyle pyramid power acoustik etc will result in humiliation because those will blow up your speakers while you are giving your friends demos. Nothing worse then busting out a fire extinguisher during a deomo.

2: Proper box is EVERYTHING. You can have a 5000$ woofer but put it in a sh*tty cheap pre-made box bought from online stores will get you ZERO output and sound like garbage. Proper custom ported box, We got a member on the forum that builds and ships to your door at very good pricing probably a 1/4 of what car audio stores charge you. His name is Boomsday, he builds great boxes and can paint and customize for you too if you wish or you can do it yourself.

3: Since your new, keep your power usage LOW. Power drains can really mess with everything up causing clipping and distortion if your voltage drops below 12. If you ask how can you get loud without a lot of power? answer is in step 2, a good box will make up for that.

4: Know when is your limit, do not bass boost, crank gains or volumes up and think you can get away with it. You'll easily blow stuff if you dont recognize the limits of your system and equipment. If its not getting any louder then DO NOT TURN IT UP anymore, in fact you are probably already clipping it back it down a notch

5: Dont waste money on capacitors, Look up what the big 3 upgrade is and do that along with an AGM (absorbent glass matt) kinetik, deka, sears diehard platinum, odyssey are all much better batteries then your typical optima yellowtop.

6: When shopping, do NOT look at max power ratings its all BS.

Here's a good beginner's budget system

We'll start off with install accessories / electrical upgrades

Now to the subs

2 of these subs. Choose D4

SoundQubed HDS215 15 INCH SUBWOOFER - SSA STORE

Hit up @Boomsday ; for a custom box. <== Click on his name and send private message.

Now for amp, I'd advise getting used because there are no decent amps at retail that will push these subs and stay under budget. Dont be scared about buying used, i got almost all my equipment used and never had a problem, Pay via paypal (NEVER CHOOSE GIFT OPTION) and they got you covered just in case anything goes wrong.

My recommendation is this ppi amp, its a beast performer, not gonna get much better for 200. Scott's a good guy too.

For your head unit this is the best budget unit, get it from sonic or crutchfield and they will give you mounting accessories and wiring harnesses specifically for your car included in the package. Its does a lot of things for its price and gives a good strong pre-out voltage. If you want a nicer head unit, try the alpine 147bt.

Clarion CZ702 Single-DIN In-Dash Bluetooth Car Stereo w/ Pandora

that was 100 for install accessories, 210 for subs, 160-200ish for custom dual 15" box shipped to your door and 200 dollars for the amp. In total it'll be around 710$ for the whole build and this will get you loud with the bass.

however you'll want to upgrade your midrange speakers later on and definitely add a 4 channel amp because the bass will overpower everything once your done. If you want to stretch out your budget, we can get you loud on a budget in that aspect too.

Perfectly said^ If you want to be loud, it takes some work and there is a lot more involved than you probably think. Save what jeffdachef wrote and use it as a guideline.....

never NEVER skimp on the deck!! audio technix at400.1 are on ebay for $105 shipped, pretty hard to beat that. c2 audio threatcon 2 is a good start for a sub. have somebody give you box plans and make your own. welding wire could be used for amp(s)

i wouldnt buy used equipment imo... those audio technix are a STEAL at that price and they are strap-able

Stock head unit won't be much good. You COULD run a line converter and use it, but your input signal will most likely be distorted. Decent head units can be had for pretty cheap. Pioneer makes great head units at a very low price, that are good for beginners and have nice features. Make sure which ever head unit you purchase has a dedicated sub preout.... Stay away from cheap brands, Boss, VR3, Pyle, etc. You will need all the power/ground wiring, RCA's, remote wire, speaker wire, etc. For $700, I would find a combo on eBay or something, as you probably have no box building experience, plus the combos come with everything. Again, stay away from cheap brands. I can look around quick for some decent combos....
hey guy just wanted to ask how that brz amp is working for ya? ive used hifonics in the past but since stuff changes over time u never know if quality is the same. Any clipping at max power?

Ok I can tell you that unless you are buying used equipment $700 will not get you what your wanting. What these guys hasn't mentioned as that you'll need a custom box as well So i give you a reasonabl break down

Deck $150-300. Amp $200-$500 sub or subs. $150- $400 each wiring $60+. Box $200+ Dash kit / harness could be $150. So here's $1000 system that's decent now if you buy used. You might get into the $700 area. But you still need to install it to
You are jacking up the prices way high. He doesnt have to go for the expensive models. Hes on a budget.

Pioneer dehx6600bt $110(has subwoofer preoutput)/hifonics brx1100.1 $160/ american bass xd 12" $89x2/1 probox sealed enclosure maybe $100

good wireing kit (stinger,nvx)$100. result $648 and all from one website. Hell if he was from my town i could get some of this stuff cheaper.

its mieh, budget power, not quality power, overrated and inefficient compared to decent companies. Would change it up if i had the funds but I got my pair of 2400s for cheap so cant complain.
