newbie install in a 2000 vw golf

Hello

My current project is tearing out the stock system from my 2000 vw golf and replacing it all.

Ok so i want opinions on a few things ,dynamatt on my doors for the fronts has been brought up to me in conversations basically i was told it would add more *mid bass *

So is it worth the extra cash to add the to my doors before i continue ,,,,,,

Adding Alpine type R comps up front powerd by a alpine pdx 4 channel and type s comps in the rear

well since i live in canada its most likely a lot cheaper to just pay the 30 dollars at the shop and do it myself , i dont really want to want a few weeks on a item to get here if it gets stuck in customs ,

my stock speakers have a odd harness with 4 wires , im guessing i buy a adapter rather than just using the red and black and taping the rest...... no idea
