splits = tweeter seperated from the mid-bass driver (usually sound alot better, because you can mount the tweeter higher on the dash or on the a-pillar insted of it firing at your knee while it's in the door)

Yeah but man, u dont understand i have no where to put a sub, even a 8 wouldnt cause my seat dont scoot up but like 4 inches.
I dont listen to rap all that much like i said, if its loud, no static, and i can hear the double bass of the drums im set,

I understand perfectly, dude. I deal with this question almost daily. What I've said is true. 2-way coax, 3-way coax, it just doesn't make much of a difference. On head unit power, they may not even sound as good as the stock speakers you're replacing. And believe it or not, 4" of clearance is plenty for a small subwoofer.

thanks for reply young, but im really looking for someone that recently replaced a stock system, a 1991 or older model, cause they're the only ones that will be bale to assist me because like i just said, what i would consider good to most of you, would be trash....id be happy with a LOUd clear sound where i can clearly hear double bass kicks on drums, thats it,

Its a single cab, small truck...only reason im replacing stock is cause the cd player (23 rms) is too much for them lol, i know 23 rms too much. But imo a decent 3 way 4x6 will make a huge diff, just need an opinion on a quality speaker(ers)

well, in all seriousness, i 100% thank u for ur time, but u obviously know alot about audio and you prob have such a great system u forgot what a 1991 stock system sounds like, what I would consider very good pitch, clear volume, and a decent drum kick, to u would sound like a piece of garbage, u see what i mean?

Dude, I think everyone here knows exactly what your trying to accomplish. If you spend a little time reading up on the subject and educate yourself then you would know that misfit is helping you with valuable information. If you don't take the advice, fine. But again, you won't accomplish what you want the way your going about it.

Dude, as I said, I deal with small budget audio systems on a constant basis. I personally have owned extremely nice setups, but currently I'm not using anything special. I have a pair of 5.25" components, a decent flip out dvd player and a 4 channel amp. That's it. I need a subwoofer too...

Great dude! Then get a 3 way coax and hook it up. If your happy with it then great. If not try something else. Hope you find what your looking for, but apparently nobody here can help. Maybe try car domain or something.

no no dont take it like that man, look i was simply looking for the name of a good speaker, thats it but now that u 3 have said that, then give me ur suggestion, I dont have alot of money, and the only speakers i can put in it are 4x6s, So give me ur recommendation for a 200$ system....if u dont mind

i can put 2 4x6s in front, 2 in back, and a small sub behind the seat,

if u dont care, tell me the setup in detail because, Im dumb, like if u use audio terms i might not be able to understand,

and if u dont care list the type of amp, sub, tweets etc.

i'd suggest you go buy what you think is gonna sound good, no point asking for info or opinions when you no whats going to sound best for you. hope it meets your expectations, if not come back and ask for some more info, u can always upgrade after if it's not good enough

Thx man ill prob get the speakers, install em, c if i like em, if it dont cut it, order the the subs n amp, ALSO, would u recooment 1 amp for speakers and 1 for sub, or just run them off head u and amp the sub?
