Ok so I spent 8 hours tearing the shitz outa my 1991 chevy 360, single cab

Once i got all the interior, seats out I noticed that no 6x9 will fit, nor 6.5, ONLY 4x6's

I have a sony xplod

Sony CDX-CA700 - Car Receivers

I know its a piece of crap.

QUESTION: Whats the best 4x6 speaker i can get, but not make me bankrupt?

I mostly listen to metal/rock so im looking for not alot of distortion, very clear sound basiically..

Thanks.

EDIT: id also like to ask

1. 3way or 2way for the 4x6?

2. If I get a speaker that says lets say, 35 rms, and my unit only does around 23, will it work?

No, i cant put them in the door, 2 4x6's in front, 2 in back. they're stock running off the 23 rms sony explode (50x4) and they're very loud for stock ones, but im looking for a 3 way that will give me a "bump" for rock. lol

thanks man, but uhh i herd 3 way is "btr" than 2 way, because its got a sub? idk would u recommend 2 2ways and 2 3 ways for back? or would that sound crapp

Im really looking for high, clear sound with a bit of kick to it, from drums etc lamb of god

Metallica specially

It's not going to make much of a difference, man. If you want bass, you're going to need a subwoofer. You don't exactly have a lot of power to work with either...

Its kinda hard to recommend to someone that doesnt have the exact same idea of bass, im not looking for truck rattle, I mean i just wana be able to hear very high frequencies with clear punchy drums,

not that im not greatful ur helping me,

Im just saying, i have stock speakers, anything really would be btr then my current rattling speakers u know? but ya i appreciate it man

Like I said, it's not going to make much of a difference. 2-way or 3-way coaxials on head unit power are only going to do so much. In some cases, aftermarket coaxials won't even sound as "full" as the stock speakers they replace.

And my feelings about adding a subwoofer to cover bass reproduction has nothing to with opinions. It's fact. If I wanted to talk about stuff that'll give you "trunk rattle", I wouldn't have mentioned a single 8" driver on 300 watts of power. Hell, you could even do a 6.5" sub on 150 watts. I just doesn't matter. If you want any decent bass reproduction, AT ALL, you will need some type of subwoofer...or in the very least an amplifier and some midbass drivers. That's just how it is...

Yeah but man, u dont understand i have no where to put a sub, even a 8 wouldnt cause my seat dont scoot up but like 4 inches.

I dont listen to rap all that much like i said, if its loud, no static, and i can hear the double bass of the drums im set,

and ima newbie man, watcha mean by 5 1/4 splits?

well, in all seriousness, i 100% thank u for ur time, but u obviously know alot about audio and you prob have such a great system u forgot what a 1991 stock system sounds like, what I would consider very good pitch, clear volume, and a decent drum kick, to u would sound like a piece of garbage, u see what i mean?

Yeah, you'll never be happy with just a set of speakers and no amp. 23 rms just isn't going to cut it.

That ebay listing: Look at the speaker on the left. It's all smashed in, and shipping is $10. Wouldn't it be worth it to get those bostons? I think it would. Maybe something comparable.
