I am really new to car audio upgrading..... I haven't been able to make heads or tales out of all the options and keep seeming to buy more components for my system...
Currently what I have:
2003 range rover with factory HU.
JL 1000/1 amp running sub
10w7 in sealed fiberglass enclosure
2 farad RF digital cap
The rest of my system is stock... I've considered upgrading the amp and other speakers, but thought I'd try out the sound processor first to see what I'm working with... so far I haven't been terribly disappointed in any aspect other than my rapidly depleting savings account..
I picked up a cleansweep NIB off craigslist for 85 bucks and then found out I'd need 1 or 2 SSI's for the install from JL. I bought 1. (apparently I need 2 to retain fading... but only have 1 so far... JL tech support said there wasn't a reason to buy a second) for $45 off ebay
I then stumbled across a 3sixty.2 for $200.00. I scooped it up quick as I figured I could sell one setup or the other pretty easily.
The factory head unit or something in the system is throwing out a bunch of funky signals and I was told either the 3sixty.2 or JL cleansweep would correct this... I like the idea of having the adjustable built in eq of the 3sixty, but it seems like the jl will automatically adjust??
Which will integrate better with the factory system? If I upgrade amps later will one be better suited? Will either of them have an edge over the other as far as needing fewer additional components in the even of another upgrade?
Lastly, If I have one of the processors wired into the car, would it be easy to unplug and try out the other before deciding which to sell? or are they wired into the vehicle in a totally different manner?
Thank you all for your help... I feel like the only straight answers I get are on this forum (not motivated by whatever brand you sell... etc)
