(newbie) Help choosing Amplifier/Speakers for my standard head-unit

Hey all,

I would like to upgrade my sound system in a 2011 Kia Ceed, it is the facelifted version. I don't want to replace the standard head-unit as it's quite integrated in the car. I can't find its specs anywhere, but the head unit is the one with the touch-screen and navigation.

I picked out some speakers and a sub-woofer I thought would be good, however I am no knowledgeable enough to know what kind of an amplifier I need.

I need an amplifier that would also account for this particular technical disadvantage that my head unit has. The below is a quote from a different forum.

The problem you run into is that the stock head unit uses sound shaping, pulling certain frequencies (bass primarily) at certain volumes. Louder you turn it, the less bass there is. An amplifier can't fix that. That said, if you set the gains correctly, an amp is perfectly fine, as you can adjust the gain to reach full volume before the sound shaping steps in.
I don't know what "gain" is, so I don't know how to pick an amplifier to correct that.

Here are the speakers I would like to buy:

4X JBL GTO638 6.5-Inch 3-Way Speakers (Car doors)

2X Pioneer TS-T110 120W 40RMS Hard Dome Tweeters

1X Auna SPL Passive Under-Seat Car Subwoofer (600W Max, 10 " Driver & Durable ABS Housing)

??? Underseat amplifier?

Any ideas, critique?

Thanks

Your going with 3-way speakers tweets are unnessacary all amps have a gain control what the post you quoted meant is turn up your stock stereo till you hear tge bass blending out then mark down what volume level your at. When you hook up your new amp set the gain so that the amp is putting out its rated power before the volume level that your factory system starts reducing the bass

Youll need and lc2i to tap into the factory system and the "accubass"feature it has will help with the factory bass reduction. What is your budget you are working with? We'll try ti set you uo with something decent

Thanks to both of you.

Are tweets really unnecessary? The ones I am looking to replace sit at chest level, pointed at passengers. The door speakers where I'm looking to put the "3-way" are right by the feet.

As for my budget, I am looking for something that is priced relative to the rest of the speakers I have put up. I'm not sure if rules allow me to link to amazon.

I read a little bit about gain and setting it properly, maybe it would make sense to have one amplifier for my 4 speakers, and an active sub with its own amplifier to correct the "bass reduction"?

Thanks agian!

Youll need 2 amplifiers, one for the component set for your doors and one for your subwoofer. Or you can buy a 4 channel and bridge 2 channels to run the sub
