Hey everyone! My name is Casey, I'm from Madison, WI, and I'm turning 18 next week.

I drive a 2003 Dodge Stratus Coupe.

love my car and I just got into building my audio system.

I have an alpine CDA-9883 Deck,

Alpine Front and Rear speakers,

I'm working on installing my Sub drivers at the moment.

Three 10" MTX 5500 Thunder Series sub drivers, Placed in a MTX Triple 10" box.

and I'm purchasing my amp in a couple of weeks.

My amp of choice was a Power Acoustik with 1000 RMS.

I just finished covering my car in dynamat and running my 2ga. power wire.

but now I have questions.

Should I be running a capacitor? if so what size? (I still need to upgrade my battery)

another question, How would I wire three subs, to a mono block amp, to make a 2 ohm load?

the sub drivers a DVC.

thanks!!

Sounds like it should be a good starter setup. Skip the capacitor, and do the Big 3 under the hood (Look for instructions in the wiring section of the forum)

It depends on what voice coils the subwoofers have. Are they dual 2 or dual 4 ohm?

That's a good Idea, The BIG 3 Idea, The way I had thought of the "BIG 3" was bigger H/O Alt, Biggest battery You can find, and thick wires.

Since I'm not putting the drivers in my car until spring when it warms up,

I'll have the time to prepare for it.

You won't be able to get a 2 ohm load with those subs, and I wouldn't recommend Power Acoustik.

Those subs have dual-4 ohm voice coils, so you'd be looking at either a 2.67 or .67 ohm load. Best bet would be to get something that does 900-1000w at 1 ohm rms. After impedence rise due to the enclosure, you'll be just fine. I live in the Dells and am currently moving to Baraboo, so if you need some help, shoot me a PM

I'm after the 2.67 ohm load, since that is the only wiring diagram I can find for three drivers.

What would you recromend for an amp? which meets there specs.

900 Rms or better.

1800+ peak

Mono Ch.

with connections for 2Ga. Power and ground wiring.

Price- Under $350 -ebay pricing. lol

If anyone has an idea which will help me in getting the best possible sound from these Drivers would be great.

I haven't ordered the amp yet, so I can still change that.

I could only find the Hifonics, looks like it will work perfect. I like that the THD is

but what does Damping Factor mean? just found it in the specs.. never heard of it..
