So I have about 300 to spend on subs and amp for my car. Weather it be one sub for now or two. Sucks being poor lol. So I was looking at boston accoustic for brand maybe a single 12. I dont really know much tho, any ideas?

I know this will sound stupid, but what do those stand for. Like I said im new and all. Ive seen those terms used but not sure what they mean

SQ = Sound Quality, SPL = Loudness, SQL = Being loud, but still retaining SQ.

SQ- sound quality SPL- sound pressure level (the most bass heavy of the 3) and SQL - sound quality level ( a mix of the two previous)

300 bucks u could get some Kicker CVRs or L5s,I think sonicelectronics has a special:Buy one get one free CVRs 10-15s.Also check out hifisoundconnection,they have some great deals on Diamond subs.For a great budget amp look at PowerAcoustik,Hifonics Profile etc.

I saw a Diamond D3 1200.1 in the Classified section for $170.

Unless you're thinking 6th order bandpass (or whatever it is) then probally not. Prefab bandpass boxes are teh Devil and should be avioded. If you want "stupid loud", I would without a doubt recommend ported.
