New User / New System / Introduction

Hey everyone!

I'm currently setting up a system in my 2000 Mazda 626 and was checking out the forums for info. The components are in my signature and the install is in progress, hoping to be finished in the next 3-4 weeks. I work a crazy schedule so I work on it when I can. I'm doing most of the install and fabrication myself so I can spend more on the actual components. The box was built by a local shop but the rest will be self-built.

I'll be hanging around here for a while soaking up information. My systems are never finished so I'll always be looking for more info and opinions for upgrades.

(No more than the rest of the forum has to suffer through from me at any rate...)

Nice gear you've got there, fella. We'll be anxiously awaiting (expecting, really!) mucho pics of the install.

You are right, a system is NEVER truly finished, but my main improvement area after the initial install will be to swap out the MB Quart component set for a Focal K2Power Set, possibly the 3-way setup. Planning to buy my wife a car before that happens so I'll hang with the Quarts for now.

I've been doing car audio since I was 15 (dear God that's over half my life now) and this is the beginning of the system I've been dreaming of for years.

I update my CarDomain page (in my sig) pretty regularly and I'll post updates here as well for anyone who is interested.

I traded the Merkur in on the Civic. I loved that car but it was falling apart and WAY too expensive to fix. I hated to lose it for a Civic but I needed something alot more reliable. I actually saw it one day when I was driving through West Philadelphia. Looked worse than when I left it. Sad.
