2 12" 2008 series dual 4 ohm type r

just hooked them up to a coustic amp 1200db dblock amplifier 600 watts rms power at 2 ohms

when i turn the key before my head unit powered up it made a screeching type noise

i just pulled out my old system and put this in my wiring shouldnt be wrong

oh, and you cant wire two dual 4 ohm subs to a 2 ohm load, if thats what your first post is saying

What is the model number of that amplifier? is it a 2 channel or a monoblock?

how is the wiring at the subs?

google "rockford wiring wizard", it will show you how to properly wire those subs.

the voice coils are wired in series and then its just wired from the channel to the sub

well, i need to know what model number the amplifier is so i can see its specs and see how the speaker terminals work on it, but from the sounds of it, you have each sub wired into an 8 ohm load then to the amp. AKA wrong.
