I am replacing my old system today in my 02 avalanche. I am going from 2-12 eclipses with a phoenix gold amp to 2-12" solo-x's with a kx2500.1 amp. I am also getting 2 kinetik batteries to put in the back. Do you think I will need a bigger alternator, I have a stock one right now. The guy I am getting the system from has something that separates the under hood battery from the batteries in the back so the system only runs off of the back batteries. Any tips on installing the setup? Any recommendations on good quality 6.5" speakers? I was looking at the kicker ks650's. Anyone have any recommendations on in-dash dvd/ navi? A friend of mine has the avic n3 and I was looking at that, but just wondering if there was any comparable units for cheaper...? I need something with navigation, and I really like the vehicle diagnostics, so that would be a plus. Sorry about all of the kind of random questions.

I'm pretty sure the solo-xs will like more power..but either way upgrade the Alt to200amps or higher, Big 3, don't know of any others units besides avic series that have the diagnostics...The 6.5s are all preference and i feel you should listen to a few pairs at ur local stereo shop to decide rather than going by people on the internet

Yeah, Solo-X's are power hogs.

New alty, better battery up front, big 3, and a battery in the rear.

IIRC the 12's require 2500 watts, so 5kw for the pair.
