new system

Hi all, getting ready to put a system in, looking for a few suggestions from you guys. Only thing i have so far is Alpine hu. Need advice on comp speakers, amp for comp speakers, midbass or something in the rear and one 10" sub, and an amp for the midbass and sub. Looking for a clean SQ system.

It's been awhile since i've played with car audio stuff, so not sure of what things cost anymore, so would a budget of $1000-$1500 be enough?

here's a few items i'm looking at....

Rockford Fosgate P400 4 channel

Alpine SPR 17s comp speakers

Alpine 10" swr-1042d

If anything, I would rather spend a lil more on the comp speakers and amp, I could leave out the sub if need be. thanks.

does the sub have to be 10"?

it could be a 12" but I just want one due to saving some space.

I'm currently looking at a set of DLS up6 ($220?) for the fronts, DLS A7 5 channel amp ($625?), the rear area...I have room for (2) 6" speakers (mid-bass) on each side, not sure how much those will cost. Whatever is left will go to the sub.

I'm reading thru the forums and 80% of the products that are mention, I have no idea what it is. I'm familiar with stuff back years ago like alpine, pioneer, rockford, etc, but never heard of stuff like Rainbow, CDT, etc. Nobody carries those brands around my area. So any feedback would be great!
