I'm not exactly sure where to put this post, as it relates to just about every thread on this lovely forum, so I guess this will have to do. First off, hello! I'm a n00b! My name is Byron, I reside in Memphis, TN, slave at the FedEX megahub, and enjoy long walks on the beach at night...uhh...yeah...anyway. Now that my lame introduction is over...
I have finally decided to transform the Black ***** into a show car. My plan is to do a 2-seater conversion, custom box in the trunk, and an entire re-vamp of my audio/video equipment. Tossing out my current motorized dash for a new motorized touch screen (in sexy black no doubt), upgrading my car computer, new sub-woofers, new speakers and finally buy me some god **** tweeters.
So I need your ideas. Money is somewhat an obstacle. Trying to get prices on everything that's out there. I don't want to spend like $1000 on just a custom box, but I may be spending total around $1000. I currently have a 600w Concept Amp and 800w Kenwood Amp. I'm not sure if I'm going to replace them or not. Getting rid of the stock speakers, as I've been meaning to do for SO SO long.
The car in question is a 1997 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4. Trunk space is quite limited in this hatchback as you can see:
I will have a guy custom make me a sub box that will pretty much replace my trunk space. He has a Dodge Stealth which is the same car minus the body, so it'll fit exactly as it should, so I don't have much to worry about there, people have always loved his kits. But anyway, I need suggestions on:
Subs (10s? 12? Don't think I have room for a 15)
Amplifier (Should I stick with what I have? 800w Kenwood and 600w Concept)
6x9 Rear Speakers (Coaxial? Component? What's the difference)
6 1/2 Front Speakers (Same Question, Along with do I need to get a 4-Channel Amp for these speakers)
Tweeters (I've been riding around with no tweeters forever...)
So lay it on me guys. What brands should I go with. If possible, I'd like to have everything be of one brand, instead of mixing brands. But I'm not sure what most of you do as far as whats good and what's not.
Thanks in advance! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
