New system Good or not

Alright i'll start by saying Im new to the whole car audio thing. I know a couple of people that are into it as well but they are no help. With my christmas money im going to buy or really i have already purchased it a upgrade to the factory stereo. For a headunit i bought a Alpine CDA-9856(180.00). A Alpine SWR type r 12''(140.00). Next i went with a Alpine MRP-M650 that will give the sub 600 rms at 2ohms. It was 199.00. I got a simply ported box that has 1.8 cubic feet. Also went with a complete 4 gauge amp kit. All of this will be 660.00 shipped. Why all of the Alpine crap, I dont know I like there stuff and wanted it to all be the same brand. Where im going with all of this is will this give me a hard hitting system that i can use everyday. Give me your opinon.

sounds like a good start but what about the MUSIC part? Do you plan on getting some different speakers for up front?

nice starter system, you could've done alot worse. and that box, is that a prefab or you making/having it made? and what you plan on having it tuned at? personally i would tune it to 32-35hz and you'll be happy.

Thanks for being so fast. As for speakers, that will be my next project. Gotta get some more money. And the box is a prefab and how do i tune a box. What would be some good speakers and i'll need an amp for those to right.

I would recommend building your own box, get someone on the forums to design one for you.

I'm glad you said that the amp and sub was a good match cause some peple on this forums were saying unless you put 1000 rms to the sub it wont sound good. But 600 will be good for me. I have a dodge dakota quad cab and to be a quad cab there is not much room in the cab. That said one 12'' will be plenty in my case.
