I have an extended cab '96 toyota T100 and the stock audio sucks. I decided that I might as well get a decent system in there, but I have little idea of what I'm doing. I also, being a high school student and therefor poor by nature, do not want to spend over 700 or so.
I'm not having much trouble finding a head unit, my real problems are with the amp and the speakers. How can I tell which speakers will fit in the walls and doors?
As for the amp, I've got a few questions.
1. Do I need to power the sub and the speakers with an amp or will the amp in the head do for the speakers? Would that be a 4 channel amp if so?
2. Can my car battery really handle an 800-1000 watt amp? Is there something i need to do to the electrical system?(fuses, wires)
3. There is a compartment under the seat in the back that looks like it could hold the amp. Would it overheat in a closed space like that, or is that ok?
What kind of speakers, subs, and amps would you recommend? Thanks.
