New system for 2005 Dodge 3500

I am building a new system. I have 2 Amps they are both Kenwood 7005PS

It says Kenwood KAC- 7005 PS-channel car amplifier — 40 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms + 500W x 1 at 2 ohms

So can someone please tell me what I am looking for in speakers for Ohm wise? I have a 2005 dodge 3500 with 3 speakers in the Dash and 2 in the front doors and back. I am looking to put either 10's or 12 's in a fiberglass box under the rear seat.*

I am looking to spend about a $1000 for the speakers. If I go decent in the doors do I need the dash speakers? Will i be able to push them all with these 2 Amps? Any help would be appreciated.

how much space in Depth X width X height do you have for the subwoofers? What kind of bass are you into? punchy midbass, low shaking rumbly bass? or really fat drops?

Do you have an aftermarket head unit?

Sizing shows 3.5" for dash speakers, 6.5" for doors and 6x9s for rears. You can do a full alpine type R speaker setup with those(just google that along with the speaker size) I'd leave the dash speakers alone no need to waste money on that.

You can bridge the amplifiers and get more power out of them so technically 80 rms x 2 and 500 watt subwoofer channel for each amp. Be prepared to use RCA Y splitters.

I have a Dodge Ram like yours and I have tried several different setups. The best one I found so far, and I mean so far, has been running active with a compnent set up front, and a sub in the center console. By no means would I suggest using the stock dash locations. I have access to an RTA, and no matter what types of tuning you do, you'll never get rid of the refraction distortion and be able to offset the massive amounts of noise from the really badly designed Dodge dash. The only way I have found to "rise" above the dash noise, and to run speakers on the dash, is to make some tweeter or midrange pods and mount them towards you, and not pointing at the windshield.

There are lots of options with the Ram, and funnest part is to experiment and see what you like the best!! Hope this helps!

I agree with Joseph. I would just stick to 6.5" mids in the front doors, tweeters mounted on the A-pillar or in the dash (not directed towards the windshield), and then 1 sub under the seat.

I would get:

- HU with an active crossover

- 2, 6.5" mids (80rms @ 4ohm)

- A set of tweeters

- A single subwoofer (500rms @ 2 ohm)

- Run the 6.5s off of the amplifier (bridged)

- Run the tweeters off of the head unit

- Run the subwoofer off of the amplifier.

The head Unit is a Pioneer AVH-X5700BHS.

Room on the subs is at 10's there is 7.5 in and 12's is 6.75 in.

I am looking for clear bass. Not the kind that is stupid loud and that is all you hear. I want to listen to all the notes I. The music but still have the ability to get good bass out of it. I listen to everything from country and rock and roll to some lighter rap and hip hop. Hope that made sense for you. Last set of subs i had wer Rockford fosgate R2's and they worked fine. I looked at the Alpine type R's. Those could work.

Now do i get 1 or 2?

also someone else suggested CDT brand speakers?

Thanks for the helps guys i appreciate it.

Ok found some speakers based on the Alpine reccommendation.

2 sets Alpine SPR-60C 6.5 inch components.

and either

SWR-10D2 Alpine Dual 2 ohm voice coil Type "R"

or

SWR-12D2 Alpine Dual 2 ohm voice coil Type "R"

just wondering if I have enough to push everything with my amps on hand or not?

what do you guys think of the choices? If you don't like please give specific replacement examples I can look at.

you didnt really answer the dimensions for subwoofers properly man. REally need Depth x Width x Height. The enclosure is what makes the subwoofer sound good need those specs to match the subs with it. You cant just give one measurement out of 3

Those boxes are horribly overpriced

DODGE / RAM

If you are going for a stealth build, i'd recommend getting shallow mount subwoofers, since they require less space to work with.

Some of the better shallow mounts out there.

Make sure you check the mounting diameter of the box and the subwoofer at at least have half an inch clearance so the magnet is not touching the wood.

I agree they are overpriced. That us why I am going to try my hand at fiberglass when it warms up! But do i run with 10 or 12's?
depends on how much space you have need precise cubic feet measurements, the sealed box cubic feet needed for the SD line is on sundown's official website. take your measurements and calculations depending on the amount of space you want to give up for it. Subs in cramped spaces and tiny boxes = minimal bass.
