Hello, this is my first post, in a month and a half or so I will be buying this system. Now the thing is, I need to get this all to fit in a 1996 Talon TSi AWD (Same as the Talon/Eclipse 95-99). Being all wheel drive it has a shallow trunk/hatch compared to the FWD models. What do you all think of this setup? Also, who can help me design an enclosure for the L7s?

I am getting this all for $1841.7 (Including shipping)

Thank you,

Sounds like a decent SPL setup. I'm guessing thats what your going for. Seems like an awful lot of money though. There's plenty of other setups that would be much cheaper and sound better or get just as loud. Some internet brands to check out are Resonant Engineering reaudio.com, Sound Splinter soundsplinter.com, Adire Audio adireaudio.com, Incriminator audio incriminator audio.com, elemental designs elementaldesigns.com. Check out some of their stuff or some main stream brands like Alpine, JL audio or others can be found on ebay for cheaper. JMac, Moe Lester, and a buch of others can design or build a box for you just pm some on with your request. For electrical look into the Big 3 do a search if you don't know what exactly it is or upgrading your alternator or battery a bunch of people run Optima Yellow Top/Red Top batteries here.

Think I could get away with a powerfull battery, and dual 2 farad caps? I really don't want to put a bigger alternator on my car lol. Yes, this is going to be a high SPL daily driver, would like to keep my backseat also. I might have to pick something smaller or go with just 1 15" because there isn't too horribly much space in the back of AWD DSMs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Would it be as loud as the L7s? I would end up having the L7s in a 6 cube ported box //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif I designed one that will actually fit with a CAD program lol.

it your gonna run 1500rms do the big three and a red top as your starter and if thats nto enough and your still dimming really bad get a new alternator. A cap wont help you at all IMO

****it, I can't decide now. HELP!!! I forgot to account for the port volume :-/ I really don't think it is possible to (with the back seat in-tact) to have 2 15" L7s in a ported box.. I just want loud.. these are the workable dimentions of the trunk.. Someone come up with something please! Even if it's not using l7s lol.. I need loud ****it! lol

My trunk/hatch is like so... H:14"xW:35"xD:17".. Wait there's more! It's just that after that my shock towers get in the way. You are coming up behind the rear seat here. So there is more room because of it opening up. H:20" to 23"xW:22"xD:8" Those dimentions get connected to the others, because of it narrowing up. Let me get a pic so you get an idea..

Old pic, old system lol:

I just want loud ****it! Not sure how to go about it now with only this much space. Please help, I'm desperate! lol

If you really want loud i would reco you maximize your trunk (use the entire space that is). By the looks of your old set up it seems that your not looking for a nice looking system but something that will POUND. If I had that car I would have my subs facing up with the box eating up the entire trunk area and have the amps built into the box encased in plexi. If you looking for some designs check out some other sites, just look through the images and you will find something you will like.

I do want it to look nice //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif and be loud! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif As long as I can keep my backseat in. I can always fold it down but I need the ability to use it when possible. The subs facing up where? Firing directly at the rear window by the rear seats?

Yup. have the subs facing directly up. The box should only go as high as the trunk and not flush to the glass. You will be needing that space for the sound to bounce off. Trust me by maximizing the air space needed for the subs and using up your entire trunk will give you the best sound and a cleaner look. what you could do is have the amps flushed into the box so when you fold down the back seats the ams are exposed.

Think about it... best sound (due to max air space), cleaner look (you can only see one big box with subs facing up) and you don't have to even touch your back seat (coz you will only be using your trunk space.

What ever your subs need. If you want the bass hard that thumping i would seal it but if you want it deep and crawling i would port it but it depends on what kind of subs your gonna use. If your gonna port it i suggest you put the ports on top facing the same way the subs are so you get max sound out of it
