So right now I have a XXX 15 running off of one Viper 1200 in a sealed box and I was wondering if I could push it with two Viper 1200's? It would be for daily driving and not really long periods of time. Also I just placed an order off of fatmat.com so will that help alot. Oh and I was looking at eclipse headunits anybody have any suggestions on a good one that doesnt skip. Thanks guys, Chief

I think it would if you had your gains set low, plus you have a sealed box so that will help with power handling a bit too. But i dont think that will help as much as porting it and its alot more expensive. What are the demensions of your trunk.

Yea just watch the gains. By the way do you ever make it to knoxville. I dont live to far from you, Ide like to hear your system sometime, and ive got a little one of my own as well. The fatmat should help the rattles.

Yeah I am always up in Knoxville doing something. Moe Lester and myself tried alot of different dimensions to fit in my trunk while still going ported and it just didnt work. By gains do you mean putting the bass on -5?

strapped? no. i really dont think a XXX can handle 2.5kw daily under any application.

sorry kid.

maybe if you gained them down so low that after impp rise, it would be like 1500w, but cutting the power in half is tricky.. your better off with a mono amp that does 1.8kw.

No, I dont even think another sub would fit in my trunk. I know this has probally been answered a hundred times but what would be a good amp that does the 1.8 kw, a cheaply priced amp. Oh, and is it a problem when I drive at night and my interior lights and head and taillights dim? Also, would it be more beneficial to just get a new hu and new door speakers instead of another amp? Speaking in terms of making my car ear bleeding loud.

first off whats the coil config on your sub? if its the standard dual 2, your going to be running the same amount of power if you run it @ 4ohms. or if you run it @ 1, your running the vipers too low. which in turn will result in even more power..

people run their xxx's w/ orion 2500d's all the time, i dont see a problem running that much power provided you know when to turn the volume down...

like IA said, you CAN do 2.5kw on a XXX, but its just stupid, because you have to turn the amp down so much and be conservative - theres no sense in spending the money for those in the first place. thats my point.

Somebody told me awhile ago that Viper 1200's do more around 1400 hundred rms. Is this true, cause that would mean the sub would pretty much be maxed out all the time. I wasnt argueing with you req, just trying to figure it out thats all.
