New sub, how many cubes?

Getting a single AQ sdc 15" sub for x-mas, was gonna put it in about 4cubes @ 32hz, what do you guru's think?

How big should I make the port opening (in width)? I have always been confused about what size to make the port opening, is there a general size you use or what because I've seen them anywhere from 1" to like 5". I was thinking about 2.5" x however tall the box is...

depends on how many sq. inches you need for the port. Then you can use and two numbers to make it. (length x width = port area squared)

Can't I figure out the width and height of the port then find the length?

thats a beast of a sub, gonna need 27+ cubes

jake760 - I just designed a box for it in the "enclosure" section of this forum if you wanna check it out, there is pictures too (; Anyways the port is 2"x14.5" and 14.6" deep
