New speaker wiring

I am re-wiring my speakers so the front two run through an amp instead of my HU.

Do I need to run new wire through the doors, or can I just connect the existing speaker wire to the new speaker wire and run that to the trunk? I really don't feel like running wire through the doors as it would be a real pain in the ***!

this process would probably save me a good 2 hours. focus's are such a *****!

the amp is rated 125w rms x 2 channels...

so somewhere around that.
