Ive still got a lot to learn when It comes to beefing up electrical systems, I know the basics but I never got deep into it because I never thought the day would come that I would be running over 2500kwrms in this vehicle.

I Need to know what the minimum electrical would be to run either a SAZ 3000D, Autotek MM4000.1, AQ 3500D, or an RD 3250.1? My range will be 3-4krms pushing the new 15" RD HW I just picked up with 4" coils.

1.Whats the smallest alternator possible for Daily driving without dropping below 11v?

Do I need extra batteries? If so what type and how many?

My car has a 150 amp alt stock, and nothing else done to it except for 0 guage wiring.

I would do the Big 3' date=' and add the biggest cheapest batt. I could find in the trunk.[/quote']
I feel like the big three is not an option in my car. Something can seriously go wrong in a Mercedes if you mess with the electrical in a wrong manner and everything is coded through the dash screen.

Why add a cheap batt?

if you don't get a bigger alternator I would start with 3 big batts all the same 1 up front 2 in the rear and more runs of wire might help but I would go with the batts first.

you can get a bigger alternator right away or see what happens. 150 is decent already depending on what kind of headlights and other acc you have like heated seats and crap.

edit check the diagrams i doubt big three would screw you car up all you are doing is adding wire.

See if Mechman makes an alt for that Benz. For that kind of power I would do .....

250 amp alt

Big 3

Yellowtop up front if you can fit one and a Kinetik 2400 for the rear. And another 2400 if you are still dimming.

Well I cant find a place that has a HO alt for my car. Does anyone know a friend that has a Mercedes with a HO alt because that would help alot. I will defiantly look more into the Big 3 with my car, I was running an Orion D5000 (2.5kwrms) on stock electrical and it made my lights dim slightly only when sitting at a stop light bumping for over 20 seconds.

Jesus I dont see how I could dim with a 250A alt alone, much less with the batts. This doesnt seem to be much power compared to what alot of people run.

I would if I could.
You can. The only question is how much work it will be.

oh and the first upgrade should be a voltage gauge, like $15 at walmart, just so you know if your helping without having to go by how much your lights dim.

Big 3 wont hurt your car, leave existing wiring. Add the Big 3. If alt upgrade is complicated, add two D3100s in the rear to compensate, it will help, but take longer to attain full charges between extended high level listening.

That's how I would do it. I have a 250 amp alt plus a red top and a Kinetik HC-800. I get no dimming with that. I got that stuff installed and ran my system as loud as I would play it and it was fine. I say go bigger on the batts because your car has more features than my 300M.

I would start with the alt and go from there. It will be the most expensive part of your build, but nobody said you should be trying to "wang" in a benz. Gotta pay to play.

See if Mechman makes one for your car. You can inquire by going to mechman dot com. There should be a number on the site.
