new re sx 12s

To the OP, are you really gonna take advice from someone who just advised its perfectly fine to run one of your subs with a blown coil?
i'm just going by real world experience... not like that means anything though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Real world experience has shown you that you can lose 50% of your motor strength in one sub and not make a significant difference? Im sorry, but that's just poor advice. Nothing personal.

my advice was for him to try running the two subs together before buying a new one. not to blow one of his voice coils. that was just an extreme example of one sub seeing more power than the other, and in my case, not having much effect on performance...

Better advice would be to sell the mismatched sub while its still 'nib', and run two identical subwoofers. I sincerely question how your system could lose so much of its motor force and still retain the same performance level. Simple common sense tells us that is not logical.

well i wouldn't lie about it and i got pics to prove it did a 154.4 in that condition haha...

to the OP

has teampsi got back in contact with you about the subs?

no i have not heard from teampsi. i filed a claim with paypal. still dont want to say who it is cause im trying to be nice. ill let you all know if he wont give a refund. no offence grass but i trust audioholic so im going with his opinion.

my option are to:

get a refund - probably going to lose $35 to ship it back if he even takes the return

sell it - im sure ill lose money and itll take at least a week, if not many weeks.

trade with teampsi - i have to pay shipping both ways. i asked the seller if he would pay for that and got no answer.

I am not suggesting you are lying. But clearly something odd was happening with your situation. You cannot expect everyone to drop a coil and lose no performance.
Maybe the coil never worked right to begin with. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif
