New guy with new head unit question

Hi Im new here

I just installed a new headunit. I have a 2000 v6 with basic sound system. I bought a Sony headunit and conected it using the adapter harness. I also have it conected to a 4 channel amp with a subwoofer and two speakers. My problem is that when I play CDs the sound only comes out of the sub and the two speakers. When I play the radio the sound comes out of the sub the two speakers and my stock speakers. anybody knows why this might be happening, I would like to be able to play CDs using all my speakers:crap:

The stock unit had the radio and tape player and a separate cd player. i connected the harness to the speaker wires that where connected to the radio/tape part. the wires that were conected to the cd player are cuurently connected to nothing. Could this be causing this?

I'm not clear on what you mean. before you bought the Sony Hu your car had a radio with tape deck and a seperate cd player? so if you bought a Sony Hu then the other two STOCK decks should have been removed. they make a cover to take the place of the open slot. it sounds like you don't have all the wires hooked up. I'd pull everything out and start over with JUST the new Hu and make sure all the wires are hooked up to it. your stock and after market speakers will be run off the amp so unhook the stock wires from the speakers and run new wire from all speakers to the amp. Or are you trying to run the stock speakers from the deck? Just use common sence and double check all your connections.
