New Guy....Sound system build HELP

Hello everyone im new to the forum.. I drive a 2012 honda accord ex sedan. Live in DC/Maryland area feel free to message me

I was talking with my buddy at the shop and was looking to start building my sound system in this car.. (previously had Tahoe) I decided to go with Focal Polyglass 165 VB, good choice? I want a nice amp (4channel) and prolly a nice 10' or 12' sub. I really like JL audio, i also had rockford fosgate setup in the Tahoe sounded amazing. any suggestions?? im a college student so im on a budget. so im looking for each part to be from ($100-500) give or take.

i can help you with subs and amps,and even wiring kits if needed.what do you need or want from the new system.kind of a shame to have focals comps and jl or fosgate subs and amps.do your self a favor and get better than those .

okay.. well again any recommendations? besides criticism.... id like you and anyone else help on this please. again college student budget from $100-500

im not sure how much power any suggestions on that?? maybe 400/4 .. something decent to match the focal polyglass 6.5 components

size...i dont wanna be bangin hard as **** so one 12inch possibly one 10inch

1000 - 1500 watts rms should be good then can do a ab xfl 12 inch sub for 260 shipped American Bass - XFL1222 a matching amp for for 300 shipped American Bass - VFL 80.1

you dont recommend Focal amp and sub?? my body at shop said he could hook me up with good amp and sub with focal or diamond audio. he a vendor for them

never heard any of their subs ,so cant speculate.diamonds are ok but a bit pricey.also those prices are if bought from me

they've been around quite a while and had some world championships in the past ,problem with your focals and diamonds are if you blow the coils ,new woofer you'll be buying,with the ab woofers ,you can recone them for alot less than buying a new one .

okay ..well do you not reccommend those components ? or something better that are affordable

all i can tell you about the lower lines of focal is that they are all lacking in the mid bass area.other than that they are ok.what is you price range for the components .maybe i can recommend something in the cdt line that will give you better mid bass

my range on component, sub and amp is 400 for each. i want SQ. hard hitting bass doesnt really matter but i do listen to rap, like piano rock or w.e u call it (bands like coldplay) and old school r&b so something nice.

i only went with Focal caused they sounded amazing in the shop and my boy is a vendor and has real good deals on focal and diamond audio and clarion and jvc products. but he can get anything.

and again im driving 12' Honda accord Sedan

i take that bak i only want to do 300 on component. 250 on sub. and 300 on amp possibly 350.

well if you like the way they sounded ,then i would get them ,just be sure to mat the doors to help with the mid bass.the sub and amp are right in your price range to and should sound amazing in your car.also you may wanna look into a amp for the components to make them sound a bit better and louder .
