So i checked it out, i like it. I also checked out the next model up, for $30 more, and it loses 2 Volts. How is that possible?

Because some people value shitty features over things like signal strength and rca preout voltage. Pioneer’s website is brutal. They arrange by model numbers not necessarily quality of receiver. That 80prs is dope if you have $260 to spend on a headunit. I grabbed the one I linked and grabbed an amp with my extra $140

Make no mistake, that 80prs is no frills straight sound quality dedication. But I just wasn’t $260 committed to a High mileage car.

I hear ya on the price. I am kinda leaning towards max of $150 tbh. i see a lot of decent HUs for around $120.
I know you guys said no to JVC, but what do you think of this one?

I have this deck in last years model and it’s awesome. Replaced a jvc media receiver and it was night and day signal strength difference. you don’t have to spend more to get more

So, im pretty sure im gonna go with that last Pioneer HU.
Now on to subs and wiring them to play what i listen too. Dual 12s, about 400.1-500.1 amp. I would like it tight and articulate.

If I was you I would get a pioneer that at least has the active three-way mode

Here ya go, has the 3 way networking mode like 80 prs, (lpf for sub, band pass for mids { lpf &hpf} and hpf for tweets) and 3 sets 4 volt preouts. And fits your budget. Also has 24bit DAC

The difference in that one and the one I listed is hd radio. Actually kind of a positive when you jump in your car and you don’t have your phone on you
