New Guy Needs Help with deck.

Hi Guys,

I just installed a new deck in my Mercedes '90 300E. It's a Pioneer. After fiddling with the wires for a while I got all four speakers playing. The BIG problem is: At max. volume on the CD player, the speakers (stock factory) only put out a slight whisper. I can hear the music and there doesn't seem to be ant distortion but it's extremely quiet. I bought this unit used and I'm wondering if this sounds like the unit is at fault or if it's the wiring. BTW: I'm still going through the factory fader.

OK , most likely you've got a factory amp somewhere thats why you here only a whisper. ? how did you figure out with the speaker wires were, this car doesn't have an after marker harness does it. Anyway, since you supposedly know which wires are each speaker test them with a 9v battery, you'll here each speaker pop. if you do not after testing each set then you've probably got factory amp somewhere, most likely under the seat, you'll have to bypass the factory amp by cutting the wires free and connecting the inputs to the outputs. this is how u fix the problem, WARNING! if you do not have general knowledge of car audio proceed with caution or your going to ^*&%& something up.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif
