New guy needing some help

Hi everyone.

New to the aftermarket audio scene and knowledge is limited. Bare with me. Here is the deal. I have a new 2015 Silverado that I was wanting to make louder and possible add a 10 a little later too. I have a boat that has 4 polk audio UM 6.5 and a Rockford 600m-4d. Sounds great. So the deal is I'm going to add a sub to that system and get a 5 channel amp to run it all and I have the 600M to put in my truck.

I figured I could run 2 6x9's off the front 2 channels and bridge the rear two to a 10" sub 300W at 4ohm. Is that correct? Well I went to crutchfield and purchased 2 JBL 3 way 6x9 that run at 2.7 ohm and 100 rms. I hooked them up to the front two channels of the amp and set the gain to about 6 out of 12. Long story short in about 10 minute of loud play (was not happy with the performance) the tweeters were cutting out at high volume then they went out entirely one shortly after another. It seemed to have blow out. The next day I drover the truck listening again pretty loud (the woofers and other speakers still playing) and there was a burning smell coming from them as well. Pretty safe to say they are shot.

I have since ordered 2 Kicker 2 way 6x9 that are supposed to be able to be ran at 150 rms at 4ohm? Figured they could handle more. Will they be a better fit. Is this amp too much or is something wrong with my current setup? Can this amp handle 1 sub off the two rear speakers?

Sorry for the long post I'm pretty new at this. Kinda wish I could just run 2 polk UM 6.5 in the door because the boat is real loud and sounded great.

2015 Silverado

Factory head unit

Rockford line converter off front channels. 2 front dash speakers still hooked to deck and rear two door spears hooked to factory unit as well.

2 6x9 on to each front channel on amp.

Also ran 16ga wire to the 6x9's from the amp and have 4 ga wiring.
