Hey guys im new to this forums . and ive had a problem with my sound system hopefully i can resolve it here . im not to good with sound systems this is my first one . me n my bro installed . my bro knows sound systems pretty well . i got infinity kappa 5 1200watt amp , 5 channel with the door speakers n my 1 12inch sub to it . system sounds great but i keep blowing my subs . ive been through 4 subs in less than 6 months. my first 2 subs were 12inch infinitys, my third is a pioneer premier champion series 12, and now i just put in a new pioneer champion series again . i cant find the reason y my subs keep blowing n its getting expensive to keep buying a new sub almost every month . i thought it was maybe a defective amp i returned it they tested it n said it was fine . what you guys think ? is my gain to high ? can the frequency being wrong cause the sub to blow ? if so where should i put it ? il appreciate any help . thanks guys. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

u r prolly clipping the hell out of it thats no where near enuf juice for a champion and infinity amps are no where near rated output imo. not w/o a ton of clipping. try turning the gain down

i bought a preenclosed setup comes with the portedbox and a infinity sub .first time it blew i bought a new infinity sub , then when that one blew i decided to switch to pioneer cuz i heard theyre stronger subs than infinity

clipping is when u overdrive the amp having the gain too high will cause it. what rms is the amp supposedly pushing to the sub? and at what ohm is the amp stable at on the sub channel? and what coils are on the sub.

the amp is supposebly pusshiin 300. and the sub channel is 2 ohm . and the sub is dual voice coil setup to 2ohm

i think u have the gain cranked up personally or the amp settings are way off, you are expecting too much for what you have maybe.
