Edit: Sorry this should be in the subwoofer area. Mods feel free to move.

Hey everyone Im new to the forum but not to audio. I must admit that most of my systems in the past have been way under par to the community here so im looking to learn a lot. (I do search first don't worry)

The advice Im looking for is on a pair of 12s to run on my Hifonics BXi 1208 D amp. My old set was a pair of Polk Momo 12 SVC running 900 watts at 2 ohms with the gain down a bit. After three years they blew on me but no big deal. Now I figure I should look for a pair at 600 rms DVC to run at 1 Ohm. This will be a DD car focused on SQ and I would like to keep them in my custom sealed box that is 1 cubic ft. per chamber. Id like to spend around $300 for the pair give or take. Im looking for something decent but have no competition interest I just want quality gear. I was really pumped about a the RE SE12 but then I read about how the new ones (RE ***) **** so that kinda kills it for them. I also looked at Hifonics ATL 12D4 but it just doesn't excite me that much.

What else is comparable and would fit my bill?

Also if anyone has a set of the older RE SE 12s 4 ohm DVC that they want to sell please let me know. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks!

for $300, for SQ, i suggest IDQ 12v2s

of if u wanna spend a little less than $300 go for 2 polk mm1240s

not sure about how they will wire to ur amp for power, to lazy to look it all up

Thanks for the suggestion. I loved my old Polk Momo's and have gone through a few of them over the years. My only problom with the MM1240 and the IDQ 12V is they dont really have the power im looking for. If it means I need to spend more money to get in the 600 rms range I can look at that. The way my amp runs I can run 900 rms at 2 Ohms or 1200 rms at one Ohm so Id like to step it up a notch from my old set as everything in the car was originally built to handle a lot more power than I was using.

Thanks but keep them coming! If i don't get some support to upgrade I will get another Polk SVC to run at 4 ohms.

my sdcs get loud man i havent even turned the gain over half and the bass knob over half and its just crazy. looking for sq though not a good choice. havent had alot of expirience with sq subs. i do plan on getting the polk mm6501 comps haha. buy something you think your gonna be happy with and try it never know till you do. if you dont like them sell them on here.

Im sending 2 polk mm1040s 870 watts. they are only rated at 350 rms a peice.

If u send 2 polk mm1240s 900 they gonna eat it all up. they cant handle the 1200 but they will love the 900 easy.

idk of any other SQ subs out there that run 600 rms. u can look at FI but i think they want 800rms for most of their 12s.

I know Id be fine with another set of Polk 12s but I kind of want more power. I guess I don't need it but it would be fun. Here are some of the other options I have found and my concerns.

Alpine SWR 1243D. They fit the 600 rms power and are cheep but some people say they sound like shit. How would they compare to my old Momo's?

AQ SDC2.5. good price good power but I cant find a lot of info on them. Im not sure how they will do in a 1ft sealed box or what ported size they need??

Hifonics ATL 12D4. Looks like more of a SPL but its cheep.

IDQv3. I hear a lot of good things but it isnt in that 600 rms range. Could a pair even take 900 rms all day and compare to the Polks?

I would love old RE SE but cant find any.

Or its back to another set of Polk MM series. Any other options or suggestions?

Im taking your advice and getting a pair of SVC Polk MM1240s. I don't want to deal with a new box and I would need another bat to handle the extra power properly. Plus my box it tuned for them. What I did was have Crutchfield price match sonic electronics price as they were happy to do. I have ordered from sonic before and they take forever and kind of dick you around. Crutchfield is the business and this saved me $150 off the crutch price. 288 to my door baby.

Man that MB quart looks good but I already ordered the Polk MM1240. I think Ill be happy with them. Polk really stresses a break in period so thats going to be tough. I never let a sub break in before and never had a problem but maybe it could have been better so Ill take it easy this time. Thanks for the replies.

I don't think that Hifonics amp is going to cut it on SQ not a very clean SQ amp. I might would look at selling the amp and getting a good amp to match my subs that is better than the hifonics amp, this is of course imo.
