Yes I am using a POS Pyle amp to push them. A new amp is in my VERY near future with the help of you guys and your rec's I hope.

I have them facing into the backs of my seats. They do sound great firing down but the box wont allow me to drive comfortably.

A recommendation to purchase this amp was made on another forum

Precision Power PPI P1000.1 Phantom 1000W Monoblock Amplifier

Thoughts?

These are 500w woofers and wired to 1 ohm? I'd do a 1.5kW amp on that. Budget?

ADHD Bro? Me too, its a gift //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I have 2 type Rs powered with a Alpine MRX-M110. Are you at 1 Ohm, .5 Ohm, 2 Ohm, 4? 1 Ohm my amps sounds okay, but I'm not fully powering my subs, it gets a little dirty. They also don't claim the amp to be 1 ohm stable, just 2 and 4 ohm. And for the price you could probably find something better. I'm new too, but I bought all my stuff brand new before knowing what I was doing, i failed. If you are running this at 2 ohms however, it is a good amp capable of 1100 watts, but again, for the price you can likely find better.

what clean 1 ohm 2-2.5kw amp could I get for under a grand? under 500 if at all possible?[/QUOTE]

Don't jack his thread lol My DD m2b was $500, but as you may know, sh*t was f*cked up. I would really locate a crossfire dealer near you, see if they'll sell you C5-1700 for under $500. If you have questions beyond this, start a new thread and others may chime in. May even be offered something used.

thanks, I like all of those and let me pose another newbie question. Just getting back into the audio world( mobile) Ive always been into home audio and have a nice MRG/ Mirage set up with Denon amps, processors etc. Some, well most of these brands I have never hear of I see being mentioned here. I saw someone state to stay away from the big box name brands. New to me is the american bass, soundqubed, tantrics, etc etc. Im guessing a little more research and I will see these brands are god quality stuff.

these subs will also most likely be replaced with in the year too so I want to keep that in mind. I will stick to (2) 12's of some sort though

You're talking about the SSA stuff I linked to? IA stuff is pretty awesome, I'd love to own some actually. Not too many people have it as it's on the more expensive side. Essentially, it would be hard to go wrong with anything from that site.

Yeah, all those names Ive never really heard of. Im old school where my buddies and I would roll around in our cars with kicker free air 18's screwed to the back deck using the trunk as the box lol

Just the subs or the box? If you're getting beefier subs, get an amp with that in mind. Soundqubed 2200 amp is 429, pretty solid if you're looking to bump on a budget. There are hifonics models that are pretty identical to it and cost less.

Id ditch the box and build one to spec for what ever sub Im getting.

That was my problem too. I want with my SO because my budget was low and I needed a 4 channel amp, not bad, nice and clean. I thought Alpine made good products, I guess not, at least compared to some of the brands I have come across on here. I wish I would have gotten advise for my build here before starting. Oh well, on to the next one right? I've seen american bass mentioned by multiple people here.
