I’ am looking for bass that’s extremely loud and has good SQ, not really looking for a SQ system but I don’t want it to be loud and sound like crap. I’m looking to spend around 4-6 grand on the Subs. and Probably 2-3 grand on components ( components will be on another thread however) anyway I originally wanted 4 JL w7's but after talking to various people I’ve come to the realization that I could get something better. Currently I've been looking into the Fi BTL series, and RE xxx series. I don’t have to buy those subs so if you have any better ideas please let me know. Does anyone have any similar thoughts about the W7's? Price is not really a limiting factor hear I’m looking to pretty much get as much bass as i can before I break my car apart. LOUD Folks! U get the idea. I’m open to any educated suggestions, please don’t say buy (*****) its better Explain in detail why it would be better if you could it will be greatly appreciated. Also another thing I am unsure about is the actually size of the sub 10, 12, 15, 18 etc. I've heard that u want to get the most possible cone area thus would lead me to buy a 18 but there has got to be a reason they make smaller subs. Do smaller subs give you faster bass? Are they not as low? What is the purpose of having a smaller sub? I listen to allot of fast hard rock would 10's be better than 18's again if you could please explain why. I’ve also been told a general rule of thumb is the higher the RMS the louder the sub is this true also? The actual number of subs is undecided as well I thought 4 would give what I was looking for what are your thoughts on that? One more thing let it be assumed that I have the correct box design and amplification for each particular sub. Thanks please help a fellow enthusiast out!!!

run some treo subs off of some crossfire amps or zapco amps....

that would have good sq for the subs...

I like rock too...12"s work great...

15"s will sometimes have trouble keeping up with a fast beat...

not always...

I have been very impressed with zapco components...

also check out dd 9100's... supposedly they are great SQ subs...

the install, namely the box for the subs, makes a big difference in how the subs will sound...

power only helps get you louder if you have a decent box...

9500's are not SQ oriented...

they can be made to sound good... but that depends on what kinda box you use...

treo's seem to be pretty good sq....

w7's are more sq than anything imo...

I have heard Fi's are good for SQ...but I don't know that first hand...

the dd's sounds the same, if not a tad better than the treos. they are basically the same woofer for a few of their lines, the dd just has far superior build quality. and the W7 is not a SQ driver, get a wv2 if you want that. the w7 just has some low end bass and cant touch the upper notes. its way sloppy compared to some of the others.

totally a subjective statement. Hell I was running a single mag 12, and dropped in the W7 and they sounded exactly the same to me.

Here is a mag 12, just so you can at least see what it looks like installed

another good sq/spl sub is the Massive Audio CW 12. I really liked these subs for daily setups.

both the mag 12 and the Massive CW12 can be purchased at http://www.low-hz.com if you're interested at looking at pricing.

totally subjective. whether SQ is subjective or not, you cannot deny the fact that the W7 cant hit any upper notes with authority. if you tune one any higher than 35hz it will shit on itself.

The DD's and Mag are good. I like the W7 series(once you tune it) and the IDMAX better for overall SQ.

What is the point of showing the Massive's spl, thats great it gets loud WOOOT. I would not however consider it in the same class SQ wise as the DD, Mag, W7 or IDMAX.

PGrsd:Bang for buck. Has good SQ gets loud and at a great price. I threw in a link so you could see the PGrsd. Which might be my next sub I run.

But thanks for being a dickhead nevertheless. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif
