I recently just bought a 2000 Mercury Cougar and, thanks to my parents, can no longer use my sub and amp till I pay the car off in 5 years. I will most likely sell the equipment and just buy new when that time comes but until then I am looking for some speakers that can produce quick and deep bass. I need them to fit the stock holes, which at 6x8’s I believe all around, and I will most likely sound deaden the doors to stop any cancellation. I mainly listen to rock and rap. Right now I am looking at maybe getting Alpine Type-R 6.5” components in the front and Alpine Type-R 6x8’s in the back. Will this produce highs that will not kill my ears like infinitys and lows that will be a good substitute for a sub? Thank you for all your help. My budget is around $400 for speakers that will not be amped.
