New Car needs new audio setup

I think we all misinterpreted his inquiry for what the BEST direction he should take with, "sell me car audio". I thought he was asking for a system as well. But then I read again and realized he's just listing his options and asking which route is best, and any other suggestions.

not really ,its just if your asking for recommendations and then telling us [vendors] that you can get it at wholesale price anyways ,its kind of like slapping us in the face
That certainly was not my intention man, I wish I would not have mentioned that, judgement error on my part. I'll just erase the thread if possible, I get what you are saying. I deal with that crap in my profession daily and I guess I got off on the wrong foot with everyone.

Note to all: I did not realize that you all sell systems on here, that was my bad. I just searched for car audio forum's and this was the first to come up. Had I known that was what y'all did, I would had ventured elsewhere. I really do apologize never meant any ill will towards anyone, just lost and trying to get the best sound I can in my new ride.

Lol. Just start over, no one holds grudges here(for too long. lol).

We sell stuff but we also are here to give advice. The two were just confused.

not a problem ,just tell us your wants and needs and we can try to help you

Great, thanks for clearing that up. My basic concerns are that I believe the 2 rear speakers could be blown or damaged, and those certainly need replaced. I already have the Pioneer head unit and have found the bezel. Basically what I want is to enjoy music in my car as that is really the only time of day I can listen in peace, or with any volume for that matter and find it very relaxing, or invigorating, whatever the music choice is. I understand that I could revamp the whole system, but where is the best place to start? I am used to nice home audio (Paradigm, Boston Accoustics) and would like the same "type" of quality in the car.

start with the new deck and the front stage , the rear speakers should be coaxials or just mids ,the rear is just for fill anyway .you also may wanna consider getting an amp for them as well.as far as your choices ,i'd rethink them again ,some of us here can sell you better for a lot less that you think

To get More in home type sound I would recommend deadening the whole car with sound deadner, that alone will be a big improvement with your factory system and just overall "feel" of the car. It is also not an easy thing to do and car audio is always harder than home audio but in my opinion a bit cheaper. Also very easy to take short cuts in car audio and get decent sound same as in a home. So all in all it depends on how much time and money you are willing to spend on your car to get the results you want. To get nice sound I suggest a processor with eq and time alignment, jbl ms8, Rockford 360.3, ppi deq.8, audison bit one. All expensive units but will make your factory system sound great with a bit of tuning and addition of a sub.

Are you saying use an amp for the front stage, rear or both. Are the amplifiers in these stock systems usually way underpowered? I am open to speaker ideas and would not rule out using someone here if it gave me what I was looking for. Any knowledge on the 300c system? Is there a sub in the factory system?

I looked at the ms8, which is interesting. So in your opinion, maybe starting with a sub, amp and processor may be the first step in better sound while still utilizing what I have? As far as bass is concerned, I know that I do not want the same volume as I had when I was 16, but that was probably garbage anyways. I would however like deep, accurate bass without asking my main speakers to provide that. I would like a clean soundstage, without distortion or having to blare volume to get good bass. What size sub best fits that need?

i know the car pretty well, most do not have factory amps unless it has a navi or infinity system .anyway some cdt hd 61a or es models components in the doors and some hd 6 mids for the rear deck.i believe the doors are 6x9 but you can make or buy adapters .the frt stage will sound better with 6.5 components
