A friend of my just got his amp yesterday and I currently having trouble getting it to work. I think he said that the RCA OPEN light keeps coming on?????

that sucks...did he get it online?

Do you know what that means?

I take it both of yours are up and running?

There may be an easy fix, but the most common problems w/ damaged amps sold online as new are blown input stages/rcas, not jumping into conclusions, just inquiring....

And yes they are now owned by Power Acoustic, but that becomes irellivent when the SS chief engineer designed these amps, same guy that designed the Reference and Rubicon series.

Then he must work for an outside firm and no longer with SS.....because nobody over there now knows a damn thing about the older Rubicon or Reference series. Either that or the same guy didn't really design them.

do you really meet that many people in REAL LIFE that has the same system? the internet (here) is a VERY SMALL PERCENTAGE of people. so cut it with the bandwagon BS.

yeah, if you got stats in your town of people with systems chances are prolly about one person would have a bx1500d, and about nobody would have an xxx, so in not really a band wagon at all, its that just all the smart people come here.

I hooked up a 600w @ 2 ohm Infinity amp and it put out more power than my Hifonics did @ 1ohm. Hifonics is a good amp, but people fail to see that its rated at 14.4v.

i'm the guy who has the 1600.2 with the rca problem. this amp looks nice, cant wait to get it to work, i think my rca cables from my cd8454 are bad. cuz i used like 2 different sets of rca's. this amp does 800X2@2OHM 1600watts at 4ohm bridged. i can wire the brahma up in 2 ohm so 800w per voice coil or 4 ohm so it works good. me and xdrkmanx will take a look at it tomorrow. getting a vga500.4 to match. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

That light means that there is a bad RCA, that is all.

Oh, I was under the impression that the engineer that designed the Van Goghs was the same one that was around when Soundstream was actually Soundstream.

If it's the RCA cables, let me know. I've been doing random home audio for about 10 years now (since I was 9) and car audio for about 6 months now. I've only seen one pair of RCA cables go back, and they were 32 guage ones from 1989 that I left outside and ran over several times.

I don't. There are good amps and bad amps out there. Just like everything else in life. Biabia could have lucked out, and gotten one hell of an Infinity amp. If this was not true, birthsheets would be kinda useless after the first one is published.

But in 10yrs installing and in this hobby i've yet to come accross or hear of a bad set of RCA cables- Nismos14(4th gener on the org) bought his Edge amps online and had Don install them in NJ- there was input noise shooting through the speakers really LOUD- we opened up a $100 set of Stinger Expert series RCAS off the shelf and ran then across the interior from the amp to the HU to do tests and noise persisted- blown input stage on one set of channels- A bad wire is a possibility, but to test do the same i did, with any set of rcas and if it persists to not work the amp is faulty
