Heroes are remembered, but legends never die
New Build Starting Soon. I have a good idea i how i want to do it. Im just looking for a few last minunte opinions. This is going in a 95 Chevy Blazer 4D. I had an idea to try the sub on the side of the box to kinda to give the sube a bandpass effect. The pressure off the would sub push of the wall back into the to force more air/ pressure from the sub port if that makes since.

Opinions?

a buddy of mine gave me the idea. i compete in spl bassracing. im fine with the results from my current set for now i am tring to improve though. i thought about a 4th order but i seen the outcome of my friends dc level 4 after like 3 days and i was like .... nevermind..... so then i was told to try it on the side and it made since. so i though i would try that

thats my current setup. and i like it just trying diff setups to see if anything else works any better. and like i said my buddy made since with the description

It's not a bandpass but called "loading". In a truck, loading is usually is the best arrangement. Down or against the back wall... Assuming the back wall is reinforced. You won't load against factory plastic panels, stiffness and mass must be high. Usually, loading boards are even stiffer and more massive than the mounting baffle. Don't forget that phase interference and cabin modes will determine which tones will be supported or cancelled. Where you put the sub determines which modes are excited and where you listen determine which modes are heard. as the sub moves away from the rear corner, you'll get cancellation.

and flex = lost SPL.
