I say you pull that front off, and recut it so its recessed into the box so its even with the port, and run wire through the grommet. other than that looks great so far!

I like the look of the baffle on the outside, it seems to give it more strength IMO. thanks for the opinions though. The gromit will be fixed the next day it doesnt snow =(

ANOTHER reason why i make the back and baffle outside the box, is because i will have to take the back and front off to slide it in the trunk, then put the front and back back on via the trunk. the i will be sealing it up from the inside of the trunk.

lookin' good so far, but like the others have already said...that protruding baffle makes the box look "slapped-together". Maybe cut small 3/4" strips and glue them around the port to build that area up, know what I'm sayin'? Then use some wood putty to smooth it all out. Personally, I'd re-do the baffle though, lol. Great start nonetheless! G/L mayne!

im not downing anymore for any comment but this how I've alway built any box over 3 cu ft because my trunk has a small opening. I literally have to rebuild some of the BOX in the trunk, and i cant screw from the bottom of the box. so this is my only option.

You can have the baffle like that, except next time make it go all the way across the box. Then cut out the port with a jigsaw leaving a little excess. thanks for all the input guys!!! i tuned it to 40 hz because thats the tuning I personally like. i have tried 32-35-37 hz. also 47hz. but mainly like 40 hz in all reality. just personal preference and when i do comps it will be tuned higher then a sq setup. i will see what i hit on a termlab first before i decide if i want to build a diffferent box or not

NEW PICS. got the subs mounted, although i have done no bracing yet. it started snowing today...which means I may not be able to get part of the box in tomorrow. I will have to take the back and front off the box to fit it in the trunk.
