New box design.

My girlfriends family was gonna have me finish running wires in their basement all day tomorrow but... They're actually busy and don't need me so i have a whole saturday to myself //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I really need to use my 6" aero and MDF in my basement so I want to build my new box tomorrow. Does this design look ok for two 12" SEs off 1200 watts? Will the side chamber effect tuning at all? Thanks

if you cant see its 4.44 cubes, tuned to 31Hz with a 14.5" long 6" aero.

It looks kind of like a bandpass box in a weird way. As to your question, I have no idea... lol
lol ya that why i was wondering if it was big enough that it would just act like it was just open, but with the 45* direct the airflow forward. Other then that, look ok? I'm gonna try it and see if it looks ok.

Yes, to keep the air flow forward. As well as having a full top across the back to put stuff on. It keeps my current box from shifting a lot too by having it that width.

You could always build the box without the extra area and make a false wall... Extend the baffle and top piece all the way to the left but leave the left side piece where it is and now you have a flush mount box with the port firing to the side.

Is there any difference in that and just doing a slot port?
The space that the round port is firing into is not a slot port. It is simply empty space allowing the air exiting the port to be directed toward the front instead of to the side. It does not impact tuning.

So to answer your question, yes a slot port is different but the desired tuning can be achieved either way.

I dont think we can call it anything until we find out more about it, and whether or not other people have already been using it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
We'll just send ninja's to kill any previous builders...and destroy the evidence.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif
