is it a good idea to get a new battery like under the hood to replace my stock battery, if i keep my altenator stock will it be aright for me to get a new battery, and also i dont want to have a split relay charging system as im going to sell the car soon.

anyone got any ideas of a suitible battery to replace the stock battery in a VW golf mk4 1.6

An optima yellow top battery would work for your situation, however if you want to go with something a little smaller with the same or greater capacity. Look at http://www.kinetikpower.com and see what size you could fit. And remember prices on kinetik can be found a lot cheaper.
