Alright guys.. i have been having a serious problem with engine noise and all so im home from school and ready to start getting back at it again. I was working off the flow chart from crutfield. I only get noise when the engine is on.

1. I unplugged rca's from amp, noise stopped.

2. I then plugged the rca's back into the amp, and pulled the HU out while playing to see if im picking up radiating noise. I still got the noise.

3. I then pulled the rca's out of the back of the HU and the noise stopped.

NOW, when i went to put them back in, i missed and touched the little projection part of the RCA, the male peice to a peice of metal on the back of my HU. I heard the noise.

What could this mean? Basically if any part of the RCA upfront touches the cd player, doesnt even have to be at the connection for it, i hear the loud noise coming out of my speakers? Any help on where to go now!?!

Thanks guys

Try grounding the rca's. Take a piece of speaker wire and strip all the sheating off of it. Wrap it around the rca metal casings and than ground it to your head unit. A lot of times this will fix the problem. I'd post a pic if I could find it.
