I currently have a stock bat and stock alt with big 3 and amp kit done in 4 gauge. My amp is a cadence a7hc which supposedly puts out 1500 rms @ 1 ohm very efficiently. Chevy malibu 2005 either 105 amp or 115 amp alt. So my question is, to see 1500 RMS do I need a different battery? If so, what specific types should I look for and where can I get one locally.

It depends, did u dmm the amp to see how manyamps its pulling, if its pulling the max then u prob need both. The thing is if its trying to pull more amps then your alt is capable of its going to be in full charge all the time in which case will burn your alternator up quickly. I would at least get a good deepcell battery.

Find a local car audio store and buy a xs,kinetic or shuriken those are good batteries. However from my research u will prob need both.

Ok vented, ill remember your advice, thx man. Btw, whats the difference between a "deep cell" and a regular battery? more opinions plz. ty
