That's weird. I had the original HDC3 in a 4.5ft3 @ 40hz box and I've never experienced bottoming out. It eventually blew and I sent it in to get reconed with updated parts. As soon as I got it back, I put it in the same box. In fact, I had it reconed to a dual 2 (wired at 1) whereas the original was a dual 1.5 (wired at .75), so it was getting less power, albeit not much, but less. Anyways, I noticed that I could bottom it out, at a little lesser level than my max volume. This was at around 30hz, probably 2-3hz higher in some cases. The issue was with over 6000 watts on a 10" sub with hundreds of burps on them with the standard suspension.
Might wanna change that, eh? Nothing like talking smack about going to China for product, then turning around and doing it themselves. Hooray hypocrites! It is Audioque's philosophy to spend money up front and engineer into the product the best parts available. We don't want any products to come back, we don't want you to go through the hassle of ripping your system apart, getting something shipped back, and having to drive around bumpless. We'd rather be making new subs than fixing broken ones. It makes no sense to us, to not build a product the best it can be the first time. This is why our products will cost more than the imported stuff, or the stuff that says "assembled in the USA" because its really imported stuff.
He still has 2 series of subs that are still American made.Might wanna change that, eh? Nothing like talking smack about going to China for product, then turning around and doing it themselves. Hooray hypocrites!
