New Audio Setup

Hi,

Im thinking about buying 2 of LANZAR OPTI1224D 12" 1800W Competition Subwoofer with AudioPipe APF1801, is it a good combination?, i think that Lanzar have overrated these subs on RMS but i have heard a lot of good things about Audiopipe amplifiers, I need some advise from you guys, before i buy them, and also would it work with stock Alternator of GM, by the way i have a Kinetik cell 800 and also 1 farad cap for this amp. i need hard bangs .

The APF series by Audiopipe is over rated. I would stick with the AP1500

what about the subs?? are they a good match ?? and the alternator issue???

I have had 2 of these subs back when they first came out. I am honestly not that impressed. Maybe I had a bad first run batch I do not know. But they will only take about 300wrms before things start to get ugly. I had them in a 1.5cf box tuned to 35hz each. They sounded fine until I started putting on the power. They were really starting to move and get loud with 600w on each but after 5 min you could start to smell the coil heating up and the front of the sub was warm. So I swapped amps and left them at 300w each. I think for a SPL sub they fail but they might have some promise as an SQ sub in a sealed box with 2-300 watts. I still have one of them that I am not doing anything with that I might play with some day and make a sealed box for it.

What is your goal? SPL or SQ?
