I guess I was referring to "live" and how it affects the stage. Vocalist centered, perhaps bass guitar off to one side, etc... vs a studio recording.Live concerts are studio mixed, too.
Either way, they are recording a live event (for example, a plucking of a string). Even though the mastering process involves altering the recording, it is the mastered product that I want to hear, and not anything else.
You are right in noting that I don't care about profits; I care about music.
If you really enjoy the music, wouldn't you want to enjoy it in it's purest form?How did reproducing the "mastered product" become the end goal for you vs tuning to make your ears happy? Just wondering what lead you down that path...
