i'm just slightly concerned with the low end on them. how high (read high pass) will i have to cross them over? i need something with a decent amount of midbass

the 11.1mm one way xmax does seem pretty crazy for a 6.5"

I think it's around 11.6mm one way Xmax with a flat BL out till around 8mm one way

When he designed it dan made it clear that the speaker has right around the same excursion as his extremis...

if it's only 0.5-1mm one way difference it doesn't matter much

I've never seen any verification of the XXX's excursion... but per the norm it's fudged a bit...

I'm just giving the exact level... 8 mm +/- is around where the BL begins to roll off from the perfectly flat

in doors you'll be fine around 80hz free air

ported you can easily get flat FR to 65hz in a quite small box

but generally 80-90hz is the money in your doors...

midbass should be pretty strong I imagine

i was gonna run some usher 9551 watever tweeters with these thingies, and a "special" sub.. but its gonna be loud with like 2.5kw into it. can these mids keep up?

and im gonna mod my current kicks so the freakin mag can fit //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif (just add like another baffle and glass over it. the kicks are generally small, how do you think they will perform in a semi small kick?

depending on the sub and how efficent it is you should likely have no problem

114db/m not counting ANY peaks, from a 6.5" with 125w input will really really really hit you hard //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

generally speaking to hear that sort of thing you'd need to go and hear some full horns blasting away at nearly full volume (or something FULL volume //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blush.gif.99bc659ee2012b7d826165e26fb5eebe.gif )

I wouldn't try it... but yes I imagine it would keep up... unless you're using a really "special" sub setup //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif ;)

well at least you can be assured they'd keep up more than any other 6.5" I know of //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

well...

if you're redesigning your pods... you might wanna think about porting... not for any SQ reason but because these things will show you no mercy ported //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

anywhere between 8L-15L will work well with the speaker for sealed pods...

bigger the better //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif polyfill is a must to keep down rear reflections in fiberglass pods

I think they'll serve you well in a 2-way

im not redesigning... just "adding on" porting as in like cutting a hole? or sticking a long tube out of the kick? if its a tube, ill stay with sealed.

$60 + shipping... shipping shouldn't be much at all though as long as you're in the contiental USA

well you can just stick in a prefab 1" port from Partsexpress.com cut to the right tuning length

shooting for 60-65hz tune if you really want some major low end in a small pod... realistically you'll have nearly flat FR to around 30hz from these kind of pods //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

otherwise just keeping them sealed is good.... I still think if you have the room a 1" or so deep port will really make you sit back and grin.... not to say that sealed you won't do the same //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
