6 cubes @ 28hz with 113 sq.in. of port

My goal here is to make a box that will really bring out the deep lows around 28-30hz.

I'll also be making rouned corners with resin in each corner of the box.

Can someone review this design for me to make sure everything checks out?

Outter Dims:

37 length x 26 width x 19 height

Port:

6.5 wide x 17.5 height x 30 long

Thanks!

VX2200D that does 2250rms @ 1ohm, it does the job quit well as you can tell in this vid....

The above box in the video was 6.7 cubes @ 32hz with 100sq.in. of port, but seemed to be missing the lowend I was looking for. It gets hella loud and is insaine around 36-45hz range, but I want to try a box that focus's more on the lowend even if it means I will lose some DB's. I'm thinking this straight port and extra port area with lower tuning inconjuction with placement of sub on the box will get me what I'm looking for. Once this new box is built I will compare both design's and write up a review. The one I choose will get painted in black glossy mirror finish and will stay in my ride for a very long time.

So, what do you listen to that plays in the 28-30 range?
I only listen to a handfull of screwed songs that really focus on that frequency range, but I'm thinking this 28-29hz tuning will effect the way the bass sounds on other songs too, am I correct thinking this way?

Lets say a song doesnt have any 28-30hz bass, it only has 34-40hz bass in it, what kinda output will I expect to see from my sub? To my understanding and experiance it's still going to pound, but just sound deeper with less output then if it was tuned at 34hz right??

I met up with Tempe and heard his setup which is a 15" RE HC tuned to 29-30hz in a similar box as the one I've designed above and I personally thought it sounded good on a wide range of songs that we tested, it wasn't extremely loud for overall output on all songs but the sound quality was impressive overall..

Another thing to add is that I probably watch 2 movies over a time period of a week in blazer as I make my way to and from work, hence another reason for the lower tuning.

Also this is just a box to be compared to my 1st design, I'm only keeping one box in the end.

Any other ideas on box design's will be greatly appreciated, post them up if you have them or just give me a detailed description?

Here's a simple thing to try...can you just plug up some port area/lengthen the port on your current box to lower its tuning?

To lengthen you'd add a bend to your current port.

To plug up the port area some foam (from HD) works quite welll.

This may save you the hassle of building a brand new box...

Also, if you really are going to tune that low you might think about aero ports or pluggable ports so that you can change the tuning...(in case you ever want to compete)...just some thoughts...

whats up with the dude walking in the first pic.lol
LOL, thats part of google sketchup. It's a actualy size reference, I did my box in feet not inches. Imagine if there was a box that big, that would be crazy. 37feet x 26 feet x 19feet
